Major Jury Trial Victory - People v. McCaslin Fayette County. We tried the sole charge against Mr. McCaslin this week. He was charged with Agg. Criminal Sexual Abuse after a family acquaintance accused him of digital penetration. He adamantly denied the charge. We received an offer from the State for 5 years in prison. We had attempted to try this case multiple times before COVID-19 but the trials were continued due to the pandemic. The alleged victim in the case came from a very broken home, had mental health issues, and her stories she told investigators did not match her testimony. Her testimony was very inconsistent. The jury came back with a finding of not guilty. This was my personal 129th jury trial. I am pleased it turned out in favor of my client.
